Beneath the Horizon

Nelson Davis

I love the multifaceted character of wood, the inherent nature of a unique grain in every piece and the ability of wood to be as smooth as river rocks or as abrasive as hog’s hair. Metal elements are toys to me. They are jigsaw puzzles of eclectic shapes and textures, begging to be married into understandable form. Intertwining the two elements is the joy of watching how a little god-given inspiration, driven by tons of passion, can connect emotionally to others.

Jon Jay Cruson

"Time and again I find myself 'where the road leads me', not knowing exactly what I will discover yet finding the inspiration from what comes over the horizon. The open country, patterns, shapes, and colors, they are all there.  Back in the studio, it all comes together with the play of the elements, transferring, assembling, and incorporating into my own landscape."
