ARTIST STATEMENT
As I continue my journey of creative expression, I realize that I am becoming much less interested in putting down a record of something envisioned or remembered. My goal is to dig deeper into my emotional core and draw on THAT resource for my artistic statement. In doing this, I am finding that subject matter can sometimes be a burden if it dominates the thinking process. My greatest satisfaction is to be able to infuse my work with the excitement and joy I feel for the gifts of life and the wonder of the natural world. Color, design and subjects are only tools to convey emotions. If the intensity is absent, I move on until there is a spark. This is the profound experience that I seek as I explore my world.
