LILLI FAVILLE

Born in 1966, in Portland Oregon, Lilli Faville grew up loving life, but afraid of dogs. She presently lives in Northwest Portland with her husband, two teenage boys, and her dog, a black lab named Ruby.

Growing up Lilli loved to do anything creative. Her first clay experiences were at the Children's Museum. She later took ceramic classes at Lincoln High School, Multnomah Art Center, Portland Community College and University of Oregon.

As a young mother raising children, Lilli naturally enjoyed doing creative projects with her children. The clay bought to "keep the kids busy" kept Lilli busy long after the kids were done. As the children grew older Lilli continued to enjoy the grounding and meditative qualities of working with clay.

Her husband, Dave Faville, paints bold dog paintings. Lilli began interpreting his crude child-like dogs and cats. Endless possibilities of color combinations, sizes, shapes, and personalities began to unfold. About this same time, Lilli's family decided to visit the Oregon Humane Society. On the way there Lilli says Ruby might be a good name for a dog. There she was...a little black lab...named Ruby! Ruby has opened a whole new dog world for Lilli. Ruby goes with Lilli most everywhere---whether running in Forest Park or hanging out at the studio in Northeast Portland.

Lilli's other hobbies include yoga and cooking. Ruby's other hobbies include playing fetch, swimming and sleeping.

Lilli's wonderfully sturdy and spirited creatures want to be loved and touched and are happy in the home or out in the garden. Lilli has done commissions of people's favorite dogs and cats. She was featured in the 2002 Nov/Dec issue of Oregon Home magazine. Her work can be viewed at the Attic Gallery in southwest Portland (atticgallery.com) and at the Hanson Howard Gallery in Ashland Oregon.(hhgallery.com)
